Washburn for Wisconsin Sixth is sad to announce that we failed to obtain enough signatures by the June 1st deadline to put Amy on the ballot during this election cycle. However, Amy will run again in 2022! This website will stay up, but will be repurposed for the 2022 campaign. Amy wants to thank all of those who supported her campaign this year - your help is appreciated! Please be advised that donations made to the 2020 campaign will be rolled over to the 2022 campaign in accordance with FEC regulations; any donations made after June 30, 2020, will be automatically considered as being for the 2022 campaign.

In the meantime, there are three remaining Democratic candidates in this District's primary, which takes place on August 11. In alphabetical order, they are: Michael Beardsley, Matt Boor, and Jessica King. Please do your due diligence, research them thoroughly, choose one, and remember to vote!

CORONAVIRUS NEWS/RESOURCES

My name is Amy Washburn. I’m running for Congress from Wisconsin’s Sixth District.

I have the education, training, and
experience to do an excellent job in
Congress on behalf of the Sixth District.

I put myself through school, earning a law degree, and an undergraduate degree in political science and public administration. I am a cancer survivor. I have an extensive skill set based on a broad range of experience, including: having worked as an attorney, a human resources manager, an administrator, a researcher, and an author.

I have lobbied at the United Nations and the United States Congress, and brought litigation in the courts, for civil and human rights, and social justice issues, including better access to medical care. I have established charitable foundations and obtained tax exemptions for them. I wrote one book on my own, co-authored another. I’ve had significant responsibility for the drafting of many appellate briefs, including several to the United States Supreme Court. I have given presentations and speeches, and presented oral argument to appellate courts. I have negotiated joint venture agreements, employment contracts, and liability protection arrangements.

My career as an attorney has included lobbying, contract work, and complex class action litigation, including appeals. In one case, I was part of a team that brought $23.5M back into the Wisconsin economy, with the proceeds distributed to various entities, including a convent and the Milwaukee Public Schools. I have worked on two modern-day slavery cases (one of which was a class action).
